2 Stars Toy falls apart
Bought toy for my son. I opened the package and took them out and Iceman’s leg fell off. I snapped it back into place and it fell out again right away (and keeps falling off). A few days later spider-man’s head kept popping off. Would not recommend this toy due to poor design and/or workmanship.

I am mixed about this toy simply because Firestar’s anatomy is ridiculous. There is no reason she needs to be a D cup. My son is 5 and immediately noticed and commented. My son was so excited to get these figures. LIke many now, they are simply not well made, don’t stand up to the real play of a child, and the anatomy issue is just unnecessary. Think before ordering this one. Having said all that, my child loves it.
4 Stars Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends Exclusive!!
First off I’d like to say that this Marvel Universe figure line is great. It’s fun for the casual fans that just want their favorite superheroes and it’s also fun for collectors that love to display. They’re so much fun either way that it’s crazy!
The review here is for the Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends exclusive set. This is one of the three wave 1 TRU exclusive sets. Compared to the other two sets, it was probably the hardest one to find at TRU. As of this writing, I’ve only actually physically seen it at my local TRU once and there was only one there. I managed to snag it for a little less than retail and I feel really lucky because it seems to be disappearing and the price seems to be rising online. So if you’re thinking about getting this set, pick it up while you can.
Onto the actual set. First off this set has the billionth Spiderman figure released on the Marvel Universe line. It isn’t really anything special just the standard Spiderman. The cool thing about this set is that it has Iceman and Firestar. And not only does this set simply feature those two but they’re also completely accurate to the Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends cartoon from the early 80s which is something to be very happy about. Beyond that there’s really not much else. The downsides to these figures are that don’t come with any accessories and it’s a bit more expensive than buying 3 separate figures. However, the fact that this set has Iceman and Firestar in completely accurate to the TV series costumes more than make up for the price if you have to pay a pretty penny for this set. In that respect I recommend this. Overall, if you were a fan of the series or and are willing to pay a little extra then buy this set. If it’s even in your mind that you want this then you should buy it. It’s slowly disappearing and sooner or later when it’s gone I’m sure it won’t come back. So act now.
Although this is part of the first wave of exclusive sets, Hasbro should really keep up with these kind of exclusives because it brings hardcore fans in and people that really wouldn’t have paid any attention to these products otherwise. Sets like these are great. I hope that more like these are released in the future.
